11 years of silence

11 years of silence

It has now been more than 11 years since the project was abandoned. In May 2024 I started a rather crazy project. During these 2 years, there were many long breaks, it was still a rather intense and demanding experience. But today, I can finally announce that the project is more ready than ever for a public release for the first time since its existence! For now, it is the CLASSIC version that tries to reproduce the original experience. A very incomplete game, but mainly for the most nostalgic who had the chance to see the project in the past. I will keep you updated very soon.

7 months of silence

7 months of silence

Commander Grade reporting in! It had been 7 months without a single word from me, so today I want to explain this long absence of more than half a year. As Chaos was kind enough to point out, a big change happened in my life. That change had been planned for a while, it's true, but I wanted to release a playable version at all costs before it arrived. As it happens, since 1 September 2014 I have been in preparatory classes.

A major step forward!

A major step forward!

We owed you a news post on the home page after all this time! The major progress has mostly been on the map editor. A new map editor has been under construction since July 2013. So why did we need a new editor?

Alpha registrations are open!

Alpha registrations are open!

You can now sign up to take part in the alpha version, even though it hasn't been released yet. You'll find more information along with the sign-up form below.

100 registered already!

100 registered already!

Yes — the number of registrations just hit 100, and it didn't take long. First of all we want to thank every one of you for your support; it helps us enormously. Now, about the alpha version: development is still going well and we have finally set a date for it.

Development continues

Development continues

Hello everyone. First of all, we'd like to thank everybody who follows and supports our project. This short news post covers three points. The first: a reminder that Shin Sekai Online is still in development, and therefore not yet available to download.

A new start?

A new start?

Today we're announcing that many parts of the game have been reworked: the resolution, the HUD, the music, the maps and the game code itself. To mark the change, the site has been completely redone as well. We've also opened a Facebook page so you can keep up with the latest updates more quickly. More details about the game in the coming weeks.

On the road to an alpha?

On the road to an alpha?

As you know, Shin Sekai Online isn't downloadable yet — but we're getting close to the alpha version. We've drawn up a (fairly short) list of things to do before the alpha launches. We aren't giving a launch date yet, in case it slips. To finish: registrations for the alpha are open!

New design, and on the road to the alpha!

New design, and on the road to the alpha!

Another design change for the site. The registration system has also been reworked to handle your skin better. On the game side, a countless number of new things have been added! Sadly none of it will be shown to you before the alpha — keep an eye on the Flash News, which sometimes gives things away!

Website and game news!

Website and game news!

Today I'm announcing that the site is changing design — noticeable, I think. Second: you can now see whether the server is up, how many players are connected, and how many players there are in total. Wonderful! As for the game we're saying nothing, but we're starting to fill in the information pages and especially the screenshots pages.

Registrations are open for testing

Registrations for the game are now open! Choose your class and your element and get ready to set off into a 2D fantasy universe with a hundred quests, hundreds of monsters, plenty of towns and — above all — many other players to help you or attack you!
